Do you ever take photos that don’t look the way you want because they are too dark or too bright? Well, here is my quick and easy secret for getting the correct exposure every time…
Just so we are all on the same page before we start, when I say “exposure” I mean brightness.
EXPOSURE = BRIGHTNESS
Ok so here goes.
When you touch your screen in any camera app, your iPhone will attempt to make that area the correct brightness and also the correct focus. But often it does not turn out the way that you intend for it to.
Camera+ is my app of choice for most iPhone shooting because I can manually control how bright the photo is (exposure) and also what's in focus. [DOWNLOAD CAMERA+] *
With Camera+ you can split the focus and exposure allowing you to get the perfect brightness and focus.

This effect is great for keeping your subject in focus while moving the exposure around to see what brightness you like best.
I've created a shareable visual guide to easily explain this.
(Feel free to share this image and pass it around. My mission is to help as many people as possible.)
Voila! That’s how I get the exact exposure I want every time!
